Job Vacancy – Head of Governance and Clerk to Trustees – Part-time

This is a new and exciting post, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, and additionally accountable to the Board of Trustees. The successful candidate will be responsible for keeping the ‘conscience’ of this expanding Multi-Academy Educational Trust, by ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, robust corporate governance policies and procedures and effective clerking support to Trust Committees and Local Governing Boards.

Closing date: Tuesday 7th November 2017 at midday.

Grade: KR7 (Starting Salary FTE of £21,510)

Hours: 15 hours per week, term time plus 10 days. Hours will be worked on a flexible basis in line with planned meetings, including evenings, and the demands and priorities of the Trust Board.

Our successful candidate will be highly literate with exceptional attention to detail. Able to influence a wide audience, including senior professionals, Members, Trustees and Executive Directors, you will operate from a position of impartiality, demonstrating professional and personal integrity, as well as tact and discretion. You will be working with confidential and sometimes sensitive information, and will be expected to uphold Trust information governance standards in all areas of your work.

You will be extremely well organised and ensure the smooth running of meetings, from preparing papers through to the production of accurate minutes. Strong administration and organisation skills are essential, as is a keen eye for detail, ability to work to deadlines, and excellent written and oral communication skills.
