Governance Arrangements

Members
The Tenax Trust is formally owned by its Members: currently The Bishop of Rochester, the Archdeacon of Tonbridge, the Rural Dean of Tunbridge Wells, Chichester Diocesan Board of Education (a single corporate membership) and the Chair of the Board of Trustees. The Members hold an Annual General Meeting once a year, but can also meet on other occasions as needed.

Board of Trustees

The Members have appointed a Board of Trustees with accountability for all aspects of the Trust’s work. It has three main sub-committees, responsible for finance, resources, audit and risk; education; and teacher training and development. The Board and its sub-committees meet regularly to review and monitor the  progress and performance of the Trust and its schools.

Local Committees

Each school in the Trust has a Local Committee, previously known as local governing body (LGB) which is accountable to the Board of Trustees. This has been established to work with headteachers and central colleagues on key aspects of schools’ work. 

This Local Committee includes members of the local community appointed by the Trustees, as well as parent and staff governors. A list of governors and details of their interests and attendance can be found on each school’s website.

Chief Executive Officer
The day-to-day work of managing and growing the Trust is the responsibility of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mr Mark Cole. He is appointed by the Trustees.

Accounting Officer
The CEO, Mr Mark Cole, is the Accounting Officer for the Trust.

Interim Chief Financial Officer
The Board has appointed Pauline Barritt as the Trust’s Interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Company Secretary
The Board has appointed Joelene Hasse as the Trust’s Company Secretary.

Data Protection Officer
Katherine Wagstaff has been appointed by the Board to fulfil the role of Data Protection Officer.
